An online poll for the British version of Cosmopolitan magazine found 45-year-old father-of-two Johnny Depp to be the sexiest man alive, one of four post-40 blokes in the top five. Twentysomethings fared disastrously, with only Brokeback Mountain star Jake Gyllenhaal (3) and singer Justin Timberlake (7), both 27, and 29-year-old British actor James McAvoy (6) on the list of the 25 sexiest men. Gyllenhaal was the only guy under 40 in the poll’s top five, with Depp heading George Clooney (2), Brad Pitt (5) and Daniel Craig (4). There were five other fortysomething men in the top 25: Will Smith, 40 (8), Patrick Dempsey, 42 (17), Clive Owen, 44 (18), Gordon Ramsay, 41 (21) and Olivier Martinez, 42 (25). The oldest man is Pierce Brosnan, 55, in 19th. Eleven thirtysomethings made it into the top 25, including Prison Break star Wentworth Miller, 36 (10), The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale, 34 (11), Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 31 (12), Ashton Kutcher, 30 (14), British TV presenter Dermot O’Leary, 35 (15), Doctor Who star David Tennant, 37 (16), Mark Ronson, 33 (20), comedian Russell Brand, 33 (22), N¤E¤R¤D star Pharrell Williams, 35 (23), and Scarlett Johannson’s new husband, Ryan #$%^@ Reynolds, 31 (24).
