Yuna has been interviewed by GlobalGrind where she talked about meeting and working with Pharrell and she also revealed her new Remix of ‘Live Your Life’ featuring Theophilus London. “It was crazy! I’m a huge fan of Pharrell so it was really surreal to be in the studio with someone you’ve looked up to for so long and someone who’s basically an icon, you know? He made me feel super comfortable working with him – there wasn’t any intimidation with him, it was like just working with an old friend. He’s a funny guy and really cool too and it was just one of those things where you look up to someone and wonder what they’re really like, and it was so refreshing knowing that he was just how I imagined him to be. So that was just an overall amazing experience.”

Tony: “Making Rock Steady was a whole different thing from making Return of Saturn. Return of Saturn was a lot of pressure, and Rock Steady was the exact opposite. It was like, ‘Who gives a fuck, I don’t care what anyone thinks anymore, let’s have a good time.’ We started writing that record in January of 2001, and we put that record out in December of 2001. That was the first time in the history of this band, and the only time in the history of this band, that we made a record and put it out in one year. It was the fastest record we ever written and recorded and released. The reason was that we were having such a good time doing it.”“On the Return of Saturn tour, we were having these dance parties and dancehall parties after the show every night and fed off all this energy for Rock Steady.
We were going out to clubs all the time, especially Jamaican clubs, and getting super inspired by dancehall music. Obviously, it shows in that record. Rock Steady is a very club-oriented record. You can play a lot of those songs in clubs. We loved that, and I think it was just exploring a whole new place for us. “Hella Good” was really the first time we did a collaboration anybody outside of the band. We wrote that song with The Neptunes, and I love the way that song turned out. It’s another really fun song to play live.” “I think that [working with The Neptunes] was such a different experience for us, because we had always done everything ourselves. To put yourself in that new place is always a challenge, but looking back on it now is awesome. Those guys brought such an incredible amount of experience into it.” Thanks to Rafael.

Bad news guys… the journalist Brianna from 303 Magazine, who wrote the article about Paper Diamond, has just been in touch with us. She made a mistake when typing up the article. The quote should have read. ”I’ve been collaborating with a lot of dope people like Chad Hugo from The Neptunes and N*E*R*D I just worked with him in the studio for three days in LA.” She typed it up wrong, and has now corrected the error. Excitement over, thanks for the info nonetheless Brianna!

Singer Mika has explained how he came to collaborate with Pharrell on his new single ‘Celebrate‘. The singer revealed that the rapper was “intrigued” by the song, which was co-produced by Empire Of The Sun’s Nick Littlemore. He told Blunt Talking: “I think Pharrell had heard was I was doing and was quite intrigued. “He contacted me through a mutual friend and we met up and wrote this sad song called ‘China Boy‘. “Then I took it to Nick Littlemore from Empire, we reworked it and turned it into ‘Celebrate‘. It was just happy chaos theory.” Discussing his new album The Origin Of Love, the star insisted that he wanted to create something that sounded “fresh”, adding: “[I wanted] something that felt like an evolution.
