I was just going through my Neptunes folder and came across Busta’s ‘Buss It Open’ from the 2004 DJ Whoo Kid & Busta Rhymes – Surrender Mixtape and realized how awesome this tune is, its really a pity that the full never came out, nonetheless I’ve thrown once again the tune in my Acid Monsta to make even more a longer version of the snippet, check it out.

Synth aka Tim from the forum had the privilege to Interview Shae Haley’s Band Mansions On The Moon via Skype. “This was the first Skype interview for the Socks, Dougs & RocknRoll Show – had a few hitches, 4 minutes in realisising I hadn’t pressed record (tad embarrassing) and then the fact that we couldn’t always hear each other, anyway with my toned down accent and great patience from MOTM we got the interview done! All the main topics, working with The Neptunes, Diplo, Benzi, being managed by Shae of N*E*R*D, their first album and most importantly hot wings”

The Cuban singer enlists Pharrell Williams for dance album. After much build-up and excitement, Cuban singer Gloria Estefan finally announced the title of her Pharrell Williams-produced dance album: Miss Little Havana. Earlier in the month Estefan teased her Twitter followers, giving them a hint about the title for the album she was working on with the Grammy Award winning producer Pharrell, asking them to guess. “Tweetings 2 all!,” she wrote.
“At studio doing final tweaks on @NerdArmy’s and my new baby. Album name clue? MLH U won’t guess but love 2 tease. Love u!” Late last night, [May 23] one follower from Spain, @PabloMTgr, guessed correctly so Estefan confirmed the title and leaked a clip of the title track off the album. The first single for Miss Little Havana will be released this summer and the album is slated for release in the fall.

Malicious reveals that he no longer wants to go by a name that doesn’t represent him. With his brother Pusha T. enjoying a solo career with G.O.O.D. Plum Miami’s cover gal Rachel Roberts had a blast working with Pharrell Williams. For the mag’s May issue, the Canadian-born beauty posed for the N*E*R*D frontman and hip-hop producer (who served as head photographer at the photo shoot). Miami Herald chatted with the actress/model about her time in Miami and why she loves her job so much.
What was it like working with Pharrell? Are you a big fan of his work?
It was a surprise to me that someone who’s so musically gifted also has such a strong visual sense. I’ve only just found out that. I’ve been a Pharrell fan since 1992. It’s weird to work with someone who you’ve been such a fan of and owned most of their music. He encouraged me on the shoot to give a performance the way he would on stage or in a video. He told me we all know models are beautiful on the outside, but ‘I want to see what comes from the inside. It’s all in the eyes.’ ”

Pharrell Williams has found a new outlet for his artistry by serving as guest creative director for a luxury lifestyle magazine. The Neptunes superproducer/rapper joined the team at Plum Miami Magazine to oversee its May/June (11) issue and came up with the cupcake-style concept for the cover shoot with model/actress Rachel Roberts.
But Williams declined to step behind the camera himself to take charge of the photoshoot. He says, “I thought, you know what? Why not make an edible cover? Art direction? That’s me. I know what I’m doing. Cameras? I don’t even know where to buy disposable ones.” Williams is keeping himself busy away from the music studio – he was recently named creative director for new cable network Karmaloop TV, which launches later this year (11).
Pharrell & Timbaland
Songwriters behind some of the biggest R&B, Urban Pop and Hip Hop hits make Billboard’s just released top 20 Hot 100 songwriters of the last decade list. Revealed Monday, the list includes Timbaland, Beyonce, Pharrell Williams, Ludacris, Kanye West, and Alicia Keys. Timbaland tops the list at No.1 according to Billboard, with his best charting Billboard Hot 100 single to date being “Sexyback” (Justin Timberlake). Pharrell Williams made it on No. 3 right behind Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Rob Thomas round out the top 5 on the list, based on Billboard Hot 100 chart performance between Jan. 1, 2000, and May 7, 2011.
While Pharrell would eventually become a familiar face, guesting on tracks by such luminaries as Ludacris, Mariah Carey and Snoop Dogg, he launched his Hot 100 chart career by co-writing Blackstreet’s 1995 hit “Tonight’s The Night” with his Neptunes partner-in-crime Chad Hugo. Williams really hit his stride in the 2000s, writing hits for Britney Spears (“I’m a Slave 4 U,” 2001), Kelis (“Milkshake,” 2003), Ludacris (“Money Maker,” 2006) and Madonna (“Give It 2 Me,” 2008).
