T.I. just got out of prison and he’s already in the studio with Pharrell, probably for his eight studio album. The rapper-actor, born Clifford Harris, was released from a federal prison in Forrest City, Ark., early Wednesday and will be taken to a halfway house in Georgia to serve the remainder of his sentence for violating probation. Harris was originally set to be released at the end of September. “Feels great to be back where I belong…Back in the arms of those who need me the most,” the rapper tweeted upon his release. “The storm is over & da sun back out. IT’S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!”
T.I. was sentenced in October 2010 to 11 months in prison for violating his probation on federal weapons charges. The rapper and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were arrested a year ago on suspicion of drug possession after a traffic stop on the Sunset Strip right after a Neptunes Session they had. With T.I. facing a federal probation violation, local prosecutors did not pursue charges against him. Charges against Tiny were also dropped after she completed 24 sessions in a drug-diversion program.

In this second part interview with VIBE, Pharrell discussed and spoke very highly about Odd Future’s Frank Ocean. It’s no secret the two have been working together in the studio and have shared great synergy. Here’s a quote from Pharrell in the interview: “He’s super talented. To me he’s like the Black James Taylor. He’s lyrical—he’s got a great perspective and super sick melodies. I haven’t seen anybody bob and weave through chords with such catchy melodies in a long time—that’s why I liked working with him.” Thanks to TheSillyKidzz.

Skateboard P says he’s in “full producer mode.” During a private tasting for his new liqueur, Qream, Pharrell briefly touched on several artists he plans to get in the studio with. Pharrell insisted on keeping things quiet about producing new music for Jay-Z, but was able to confirm that he will be working with him in the near future. “I’m working with him but he’s not talking about what he’s doing. Whatever he needs I got him. I just can’t go into [it],” P continued. “There’s some magic.”
Pharrell also spoke briefly on the new music he’s worked on for Mary J Blige’s forthcoming album, My Life 2 and his admiration for The-Dream’s music. “The Mary stuff is sick. [She’s] on her A-game right now. Her new album is incredible and I’m honored to be a part of it,” Pharrell continued. “Shout out to The-Dream, too. I did something for him and we’re getting ready to go in.” The super producer was featured on “Real” from The-Dream’s recent free-album, 1977.
Conga, merengue, salsa, cumbia. And also pop. Rock. Folk.As a singer, Gloria Estefan has offered a whole palette of flavors and colors to her fans, both in English and in Spanish. But with her new English album, “Miss Little Havana,” the Cuban star reveals a side she had yet not explored with the tone of her voice — one of great sensuality.
She attributes her newest producer Pharrell, who has created hits for the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and more, with helping bring out her sexier side on the Latin dance album. “I am indeed, much more comfortable in my own skin,” said Estefan, 54, in a recent interview with The Associated Press.
“I think women, as we get older, we can just let go of a lot of things,” added the artist, who gained fame in the 1980s as the lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine. “I just have felt better and better through the years.” The first nine songs in “Miss Little Havana,” written or co-written by Pharrell and sprinkled with Spanish, tell the story of a young girl who arrives in Miami from Cuba in search of a new life, and finds her heart broken after she hooks up with the wrong guy. Not her story, says Estefan, whose first and only boyfriend has been her husband, Emilio, the ex-leader of the Sound Machine and producer. He produced four songs on the album, which comes out on Tuesday, exclusively at Target. It is her first in English since 2003‘s “Unwrapped.”
AP: What took you so long?
Estefan: Well, I was doing Spanish in between. We did “90 Millas” … But I never go into the studio just to do a record. I have to have some kind of creative idea that I feel that my fans will enjoy and that I wanna share, and Pharrell called me and said, “Listen, I would love to do a project with you and I have written a couple of songs for you that I’d like you to hear.” (And) when I listened I thought, “You know what? This is a great idea. I would love to be a part of this somehow and see how we click,” … and we did.
Rob Dyrdek, Pharrell Williams, Game & Yelawolf
Remember back in April 2010 when Yelawolf talked about going in the studio with The Neptunes and that he may go on Tour with N*E*R*D that summer, well Yelawolf actually was planned to be featured on N*E*R*D’s scrapped Instant Gratification album but it looks like we might get to hear that collaboration they did back then. Fast-rising rapper Yelawolf has announced that he will release his upcoming full-length studio album, Radioactive, on October 25th, 2011, via Ghet-O-Vision/Shady Records/DGC/Interscope. Radioactive is the Alabama-born rapper’s first album after the partnering of Ghet-O-Vision Entertainment and the Eminem-led Shady Records.
The album, which finds Yelawolf working with such producers as SupaHotBeats, Justice League, The Audibles, Diplo, Eminem, Lil Jon and Gangsta Boo with production from Andre 3000, Chuck Inglish and TheNeptunes’ N*E*R*D on the track ‘Write Your Name’, follows Yelawolf’s critically acclaimed Trunk Muzik 0-60 (Ghet-O-Vision/DGC/Interscope) — a 2010 compilation of tracks from his Trunk Muzik Mixtape along with previously unavailable recordings. “We are very eager for the world to hear Radioactive and proud to be presenting the album on Shady Records,” said Eminem. “Yelawolf is a true original and he has crafted an incredible record.”

It’s been a year but Serbian/Canadian rapper/producer Filip Filipi is back and he’s kicking off #FilipiWednesdays with “Big City Chaser” which features Pharrell and Diplo’s favorite band, Mansions On The Moon. The Jonathan Lee produced song fuses hip-hop with an indie vibe to create something that is sure to be an end of the year hit. This is the first installment of Filip’s latest series called #FilipiWednesdays, where he’ll be releasing a new track every Wednesday for the next four weeks, all leading up to the release of Filipi’s upcoming project. Adam Lambert, in a particularly chatty twitter party today, tells fans who are anxiously awaiting new music that a release date has not been set yet for his new single, because it hasn’t been picked yet! But don’t worry–there will be plenty of great tunes to choose from–some not even finished yet.
Adam also revealed a new collaborator, Pharrell Williams (Adam is also working with Claude Kelly, Greg Wells, Sam Sparro, Ali Tamposi and more).
About his upcoming guest spot on “Project Runway” airing Thursday on Lifetime, Adam says, “the judges are reeeeally funny. On and off camera. Micheal had me in stitches w his wit.” Adam recently revealed that his sophomore album will be released in 2012. “Some of it’s really fun and upbeat yet honest and real. Other tracks are moody, dark. Both sides of me..One of the producers I was extremely honored to write with was @Pharrell Williams! Whew. I don’t think y’all are ready for that!”
