*Williams is in his element here. It’s in this room that he has created many of the most insistent, most libidinous floor-fillers of the past decade. He’s working on a new song today, tentatively titled “Loser“. He beatboxed the idea into his Treo a few days ago, and last night wrote some lyrics:
“The hottest at the party/But no one I knew knew her/When I seen her body/It’s like, Hallelujah/Now I’m feeling guilty/’Cos I don’t want to use her/Man, she’s such a winner/I’m sucha fucking loser.”
Now, he’s programming a bassline, adding string, picking out a melody on his keyboards. It’s a jaunty disco track, possibly the first for the next N¤E¤R¤D album, possibly not, depending on how the other band members, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley, respond to it. He fears it’s too soft, too commercial for them, “but they’re crazy not to like it because it’s a huge monster smash! Thanks To Mongrel Cat For The Pics.
