Plum Miami’s cover gal Rachel Roberts had a blast working with Pharrell Williams. For the mag’s May issue, the Canadian-born beauty posed for the N*E*R*D frontman and hip-hop producer (who served as head photographer at the photo shoot). Miami Herald chatted with the actress/model about her time in Miami and why she loves her job so much.
What was it like working with Pharrell? Are you a big fan of his work?
It was a surprise to me that someone who’s so musically gifted also has such a strong visual sense. I’ve only just found out that. I’ve been a Pharrell fan since 1992. It’s weird to work with someone who you’ve been such a fan of and owned most of their music. He encouraged me on the shoot to give a performance the way he would on stage or in a video. He told me we all know models are beautiful on the outside, but ‘I want to see what comes from the inside. It’s all in the eyes.’ ”
