(What’s this?)Heard on the album Hard Candy in the confines of Madonna’s publicist’s office, Give It 2 Me sounded good. But out on its own, this Neptunes-produced track is more Madge by numbers, stiffly comical where she was once a shimmering queen. Perhaps she had other things in mind – like how much of her fortune would go to hubby in any future divorce settlement -but when she boasts of being able to “go on and on and on when the lights go down”, you want to say, politely, there really is no need. Three minutes is more than enough.
