“You having a good time, or what?” Pharrell Williams asked the crowd who’d crammed into Shoreditch shop Present last night for a sneak preview of N*E*R*D’s new album, Nothing. Pharrell’s presence meant we all got rather distracted from the music, as he worked the crowd, shaking hands, chatting and flirting with nearby females, but he soon reminded us why we were there – “This is music to smile to, lay back to, smoke to.” We enjoyed a tête-à-tête with the singer, to run through his outfit – mirrored Aviators, khaki cap complete with double-C brooch, white tee and RRL navy neckerchief, so far, so Pharrell. Then, he pulled out a rosary from under his shirt. “No one else has seen this,” he whispered. “It’s Chanel.” Been shopping lately, we asked. “Nah,” he drawled with a knowing smile. (Up close, he practically glows.) Who wouldn’t gift this man?
