Recently, Kendrick Lamar stopped by the offices of KarenCivil.com to talk about some things he has in the works. Photos of Pharrell and K-Dot in the studio surfaced which led to speculation that the two were working on some new material for the latter’s debut album. “Our time in the studio was crazy,” Lamar enthusiastically stated. “Me and P knocked out about six records. I’m excited for the people to hear them.”
It’s safe to say that many people share K-Dot’s enthusiasm, who also spoke on his work with Dr. Dre and the mythical Detox album. “When I first met Dre we did about ten records, all of them were dope but there were at least two that were really really solid. One of them [the records] we fell in love with and just have to go through the mixing process and get it right…and put it on there!” The Compton MC also discussed being left off of ‘MTV’s Hottest MC’s in the Game’ list, his TDE Camp and losing songstress Alori Joh and how it’s impacted him.
