T.I. Reveals Having More Tracks With Pharrell On ‘Kill The King’

T.I. stopped by V-103 Studios in Atlanta earlier this week and shared details about his final album, ‘Kill The King‘, including insight into the project. He also revealed that the album has more tracks with Pharrell beyond the lead single, “Let ‘Em Know,” . You can check out the interview audio around the 10-minute mark below.

“‘Kill The King’ is a metaphor for killing the ego,” T.I. explains. “Long before I was a nationwide name, I made the decision to claim King of the South, and I did. But over time, I realized that many of my infractions, disagreements, and back-and-forths with people were tied to how they felt about that, you know what I mean? As I evolve and elevate my consciousness, as I grow, learn, and develop as a human being, I’ve found that nothing is more important than peace of mind.” “Seeking that peace of mind, I discovered that the less ego you hold on to, the more peace you can maintain.”

“This Kill The King project is going to be heavy-handed,” he reveals. “It’s the last of them, so I’m going to get it all out, you feel me? I’m going to lay it all out there. And the back-and-forth you hear between T.I. and Tip? That’s conflict. It’s an internal conflict—a dichotomy between who I was before I became famous and who I had to become to maintain fame. There’s been an internal discrepancy, and I think it’s time to settle that.”
