For more than 25 years, I’ve been collecting music by The Neptunes, Chad Hugo, and Pharrell Williams. What started as a personal hobby gradually became something I enjoyed sharing with other fans. Over the years, I’ve tracked down rare recordings, alternate versions, radio rips, live performances, and fashion show soundtracks, cleaning up audio where possible, removing DJ tags, and organizing everything into complete listening experiences.
The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2027 soundtrack was another project that deserved that treatment. If you only watched the official runway presentation, you probably heard four songs: Quavo’s “Haavin,” Lil’ Baby’s “Dead Fresh,” YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Simulation,” and Angelique Kidjo’s “Bando (LV Mix).” However, after going through the complete livestream, it became clear that the full soundtrack is much more than that. Between the featured songs are three original compositions by Pharrell Williams and Thomas Roussel that help tie the show together. The stream also includes the previously unheard instrumental “Yurushi,” making the complete listening experience feel much closer to the way the soundtrack was originally arranged for the event.
Fashion show music often gets overlooked because most people focus on the clothing, but Pharrell has consistently treated these soundtracks as complete musical projects. Since becoming Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Creative Director, his collaborations with Thomas Roussel have added another layer to each collection, blending original scores with exclusive music from featured artists.
