Here’s a great event happening at an unfortunate time. The folks at AltDaily.com have organized an amazing symposium about the local hip-hop scene that will feature remarks from Malice of Clipse, Chad Hugo from The Neptunes and N*E*R*D as well as DJ Bee from WOWI-FM (102.9). These are all industry heavyweights whose ideas and opinions count.

DJ Cornbread, a local turntable master with an ardent following, will act as master of ceremonies and moderator. The discussions will take place 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk. What will they be discussing? Why have so many globally successful hip-hop artists come out of Hampton Roads? And how has that affected the local music scene?
