Kid Sister revealed In a recent interview with buzzinemusic.com that The Neptunes will be on her second studio album. “I have a new song by The Neptunes, and I couldn’t figure out what to do with the hook, so he helped me write it, and they played it for Chad [Hugo] and for Pharrell [Williams], and they were like, “Oh my God! This hook is so DOPE!” So sometimes Josh knows better, and you’ve got to be able to trust your little brother. [Laughs]” Kid Sister has already been in the studio with The Neptunes for her first studio album Ultraviolet from 2009 but they didn’t make the final cut because her “Ultraviolet (2009) album is a body of work. Those tracks didn’t come together in time for us to incorporate them into this album. Think about a family album…
You’re paging through a scrapbook, you need some cohesiveness. They weren’t quite there yet,” but there’s promise. Those songs will likely be heard somewhere down the line. “When I saw Pharrell, he was like, ‘I’m so behind you,’ so I’m sure that’s not the end of those tracks. They’re going to find a different home somewhere, maybe a commercial.” said the 30-year-old, born Melisa Young 2 years ago, so we might get to hear the tunes on her new album.
