“It’s been a long road to this point. I haven’t taken flight just yet. Like anyone else, if I look back on how I got here I will find plenty of points in history where I have been let down. But I’ll also find plenty of points where I have failed. Failed to protect my art by signing the wrong deals, failure to protect myself by working with people who never understood me and subsequently failure to release my music to my patrons and fans the way they anticipated because of my propensity for perfection. All of those things are coupled against a system that was built to fail and what chance did I have?
That’s why I started making the 3 EP series -Land 2 Air Chronicles to precede a 3rd Album entitled Songs For Flight. Inspired by Emerson Self Reliance, Land 2 Air’s purpose was to be a learning experience for me. A way to hone my discernment and identify the right partners and allies for my art. The EPs would hopefully serve as the runway to Songs for Flight – a taking off point. I wanted to find the moment where my dreams would finally become a reality. Where I would be able to engineer and unite the history of my life with the future of my art in a way where it truly represented who I am.
The first installment would be Chaos and the Darkness. Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. Accept the place the divine providence has found for you, the society of your contemporaries, the connexion of events. Great men have always done so, and confided themselves childlike to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the Eternal was stirring at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being. And we are now men, and must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and not pinched in a corner, not cowards fleeing before a revolution, but redeemers and benefactors, pious aspirants to be noble clay under the Almighty effort let us advance on Chaos and the Dark….
The first song Chains is about being underestimated. And knowing that inside of yourself u have answers to things that no body wants to face. To a degree you have to enjoy that underestimation.
