The 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards took place at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. In short, host Seth Meyers of SNL made fun of Marc Jacobs, John Waters accepted Johnny Depp’s Fashion Icon award on the actor’s behalf, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won their first CFDA award and Pharrell Williams presented photobloggers Scott Schuman and Garance Doré with the organization’s inaugural Media Award. More on Meyers mocking Jacobs: As a playful jab at the designer’s interesting outfit to the recent Met Gala, the host appeared mid-show dressed in the same Comme des Garçons men’s sheer lace dress and boxers, announcing, “I’m going to wear this on the subway home.”

On a celebrity tip, actors Zoe Saldana, Jessica Chastain, Matt Bomer, Bernadette Peters, Busy Philipps, Dakota Fanning, Devon Aoki, Gretchen Mol, Heather Graham, Jack Huston, Jennifer Tilly, Julianne Hough, Kate Bosworth, Lauren Hutton and Sophia Bush were all in the house. Musicians Solange Knowles, Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent), the aformentioned Pharrell, Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship and Alison Mosshart of The Kills all made appearances. There were also some pro athletes in attendance: snowboarder Shaun White and New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.
