Blurred Lines – Thicke’s sixth studio album – debuted at number one today with Jay’s Magna Carta Holy Grail dropping to number two. It’s only Robin’s second UK Top 40 album – his second LP, The Evolution Of Robin Thicke, released in 2007 peaked at number 30. Thicke told OfficialCharts.com: ‘Thank you for making my new album Number 1 in the UK! This is a dream come true. ‘I hope everyone enjoys it. Peace, love, and sexy!’
Blurred Lines’ title track smashed the million copies sales barrier earlier this week. Meanwhile, Pet Shop Boys’ Electric is a new entry at three while Rod Stewart’s Time slips from two to four. Passenger’s All The Little Lights rounds out the top five albums. There is only one other new entry in the Top 40 today – Australian singer Cody Simpson debuts at 30 with his second album, Surfer’s Paradise. Blurred Lines is now on iTunes itunes.apple.com.
