Robin Thicke was not playing games when he said he had a thing or two to teach the masses about Sex Therapy on his last album. The R&B singer was in attendance at the American Music Awards last night to present the award for Best Female R&B Vocalist with singer Ellie Goulding, but the fact that he wasn’t nominated for an award didn’t stop the new dad from giving explicitly candid interviews! Thicke spoke about everything from fatherhood to music and even let us in on his skilled sex game that keeps wifey Paula Patton Shaking It For Daddy. Fellas, take note. Thicke has one of the baddest actresses in the game wearing his ring, so you may want to pay some close attention to how he makes that relationship work.
Robin, what is coming up next for you?
My new album comes out December 6th, which is why I am here shamelessly promoting it. It is called Love After War and it is about the inner demons that we all fight, that we all have. It is also about my lady and just having a baby! We have a one and a half year old child. Once you see what a woman has to go through to have a baby, you really learn what real compassion, understanding and patience is all about and what it is to go through that.
Pharrell hosted the Soledad O’Brien & Brad Raymond Foundation at a Private Residence on November 18, 2011 in Miami Beach, Florida. The Soledad O’Brien & Brad Raymond Foundation provides young women with a bridge between obstacles and opportunity, giving them the experiences, education and resources to overcome unexpected barriers to success. During Soledad’s career as a reporter and special correspondent for CNN, she mentored hundreds of girls in journalism, believing in the importance of passing on her own knowledge and teaching others that they too can succeed. “This foundation is a natural evolution of that”, says her husband, Brad Raymond. Soledad’s best friend, Kim Bondy, who is on the board of the Soledad O’Brien and Brad Raymond Foundation, called Soledad several years ago and told her there was a girl named Alexia, in New Orleans, who needed a scholarship.
“Kids in New Orleans had a lot of needs, and they just needed opportunities, and needed chances, and so we said yes,” said Soledad. Soledad and Brad immediately decided they would help Alexia. This initial scholarship has grown into over 10 scholarships for young girls across the United States to complete their educational pursuits. As Soledad continued to cover stories of national and international importance for CNN, from Hurricane Katrina to the earthquake in Haiti, she met dozens of young women, bright, driven and intelligent, who lacked the financial means to complete their educations. Many of these girls are now scholarship recipients. “I discover how hard working, amazing, incredible they are, they are just lacking one thing,” Soledad says. “I live in the projects,” says Erica Ramos, a scholarship recipient. “No one expects you to go to college, everyone expects you to fail.” The Foundation values equal access to education for everyone, despite the barriers that prevent many from achieving what they are capable of.

Simmie Sims — better known as Buddy — started rhyming seriously when he was 11. By the time he turned 17, the Compton teen was performing at showcases where he caught the attention of industry insider DJ Casanova. Casanova helped Buddy polish his sound and then introduced him to Pharrell. Thus The Neptunes‘ produced breakout anthem, “Awesome Awesome,” landed on Spotify mixes everywhere. The ode to living dangerously (well) gained even more speed from the How To Make It in America 2 Mixtape. In celebration of Buddy’s newfound success, Kidult challenged the rapper to get more specific about other things he deems “awesome awesome.” Get ready to get familiar.

Diggy Simmons can’t hear the screams of teenage girls chanting his name outside Club Nokia as he sits in a dressing room waiting to go on stage at the “Scream” tour in Los Angeles. Rap-Up TV caught up with the 16-year-old heartthrob backstage to get an update on his highly-anticipated album, discover which artists outside of hip-hop he would like to work with, and share encouraging words from Pharrell. The son of hip-hop icon Rev Run recently shot a video for his new single “Do It Like You” with Jeremih. “It’s amazing. You’ve never seen me in this way before,” he teased. “It’s gonna be a big video and it’s my best video.”
After coming off tour, Diggy will return to work on his Atlantic Records debut, slated for an early 2012 release. “It has a lot of shock value to it and it’s definitely just a great project,” he said of the album, which will feature some surprise guests. “Sonically it’s just something that you can listen to from top to bottom. Each song is different, but they all just feel great.” The material already has the stamp of approval from his mentor Pharrell. “He loved it. He was going crazy over the production and the content and the subject matter. He was just so proud.”
Girl Gang By E-Money
Bronx-borned Maxine Ashley is our 6th featured girl for the “Girl Gang” Interviews! This young little fox has the vocals of a big star! Her YouTube channel has already amassed 1,053,832+ views of her bedroom covers of R&B hits, but Maxine has traded her bedroom for the studios of New York, London and now Miami, where she’s busy honing her international sound–a carefree mix of urban pop, R&B, dance, and soul that would be equally at home on the streets of the Bronx, London, or Tokyo.
Her first outing is a guest vocal appearance on Italian DJ Alex Gaudino’s summer-smash, “I’m In Love” for Ministry Of Sound. Her tough yet vulnerable vocal atop Gaudino’s shimmering electronics has already wowed radio and club DJs Europe-wide, thus cementing Maxine’s first step on the road to international takeover. Today she is signed to Interscope/Star Trak through Pharrell Williams where she is currently recording her very own album, she was also recently featured on the cover of “Dazed & Confused” fashion magazine (Dec. 2011 issue)!! Get to know Maxine a little more!

Responsible for crafting top ten hits for many of today’s artists, Pharrell Williams has redefined pop music over the course of the last decade. In 2009, alongside production partner, Chad Hugo, Williams (who together are the duo known as The Neptunes) was ranked number one among Billboard’s producers of the decade. Williams‘ consistent track record of smash hits was just one of the topics discussed in HuffPost Black Voices latest episode of “The Tanning Effect.” The “Rump Shaker” producer opened up on trying to convince Michael Jackson’s manager to use a selection of beats tailored specifically for the “King Of Pop.” According to Williams, the late singer preferred a sound similar to the producer’s 1998 hit Noreaga song, “Superthug.” “I have been telling him, ‘Yo, I got these Michael records [that I did for Michael].’ And I’ll never forget Michael’s manager saying, ‘Yo, Michael wants some “Superthug!”‘And I was like, ‘What?'” the producer-singer recalled.
“I remember being so baffled and so crushed, ’cause he still is my idol.” When the initial tracks produced for Jackson were scrapped, Williams sought out Justin Timberlake, who was working with The Neptunes on his debut album, Justified. The songs went on to commercial success, not to mention eliciting a phone call from Jackson. “Funny story is, when we were working on it, Michael called … he just called me and he was eating popcorn in my ear [over the phone] and he was like, ‘Oh, so you’re working with Justin, how’s it going?’ And you know, it was Michael’s voice…it wasn’t the high pitched [voice] that everyone else knew. And he’s just eating the popcorn or whatever. And I remember just thinking to myself, ‘Man, I wish Michael could hear these songs,'” he said (see video 2, 3:00). “And later on, after those songs came out and they were really huge thanks to Justin’s talent and what he had to offer, I’ll never forget the day that me and Michael met up. And he sang me those songs, sounding like Justin. And he said, ‘You should’ve gave those songs to me.'”
Helming most of Timberlake’s 2002 solo debut was only part of The Neptunes‘ early commercial success, as they also landed their first global number one hit with Britney Spears‘ “I‘m A Slave 4 U.” A 2003 survey that showed that 20 percent of the songs played on British radio — and a staggering 43 percent of songs in the U.S. — were written or produced by Williams and Hugo. For Williams, the accomplishment was a bit weird and inspired him to do different things. “I didn’t realize it until I was looking at culture and saying to myself, ‘This is weird,’ because you start to see it,” he admitted. “It freaked me out … and Kanye asked me, ‘Yo, you don’t want this?’ And I was kind of like, ‘Nah, man.’ And I remember thinking to myself that I need to go do some other things, because I don’t feel like people want to move on from this.” He added, “I’m a southern boy, so you know at the end of the day, humility is everything. And I think credit is to be given, not to be taken. But at the same time, sometimes I need to be told and reminded.” Check out parts one, two and three of the interview above.
Noreaga tweeted this week that there is a Superthug Movie in the making featuring Pharrell among other artists such as Lil’ Wayne, Pusha T. & Jadakiss. “@noreaga S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G #superthug movie so far skate board p Lil Wayne Jadakiss uncle murder Fred the god son GLACIERZ meek mills Pusha t wale and tone trump nice”. Forum member menamearenick managed to get an Interview with Pharrell’s newest artist Simmie Sims III (18) also known as Buddy for Respect Mag.com where he talks about Pharrell’s own label I Am Other and how he linked up with him working already 2 years with The Neptunes, doing tracks with Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Maxine Ashley, working on a mixtape, and his moniker Buddy. Once upon a time, Pharrell Williams had a mustache. He was a half of The Neptunes and a third of N*E*R*D the funk master behind damn near every song you liked in the 2000s. Along with Chad Hugo, he formed Star Trak Entertainment in 2001, a spaced-out subsidiary of Interscope best known for its classic Clipse and Kelis releases (as well as albums by Snoop, Robin Thicke, Slim Thug, and Pharrell himself). But Star Trak was more notorious for what it didn’t put out. Artists like Natasha Ramos, Fam-Lay, and Teyana Taylor have all bubbled and fizzed under the label’s watch; even the most hardcore Neptunes groupies came to expect push backs and shelvings whenever an artist signed. These days, some of the ex-Trakkies are on to bigger and better things (i.e. Pusha T), while some have all but disappeared (i.e. Chester French).
Pharrell and Chad, too, share production credits less and less. Meanwhile, Pharrell has become a man of extracurriculars, an eccentric entrepreneur in his own right. Just this year, he designed a glass sculpture of a skeletal angel, spoke on behalf of an eco-friendly textile company, and has been touring the country promoting a new milky liqueur called Qream. Quietly, he’s launched a new music venture called I Am Other. It’s described rather nebulously as “a content-driven property that spotlights new musicians, filmmakers, designers, artists and innovators through online, mobile and retail channels, TV shows and films.” Supposedly, YouTube stars Alyssa Bernal, Maxine Ashley, and Cris Cab are signed — an unexpected repertoire considering Pharrell’s hip-hop legacy.
That’s where Buddy comes in. The heavy-hitting “Awesome Awesome” recently popped up on a promo mixtape for HBO’s “How To Make It In America,” backed by a Neptunes beat that sounds like a leftover from Already Platinum. “Jordan Twelve’s my shoes / BBC’s my clothes” — he bounds onto the track like the excited 18-year-old that he is. “The way he thinks, and his ability to articulate that is just — I hadn’t seen anything like it,” quipped Skateboard P to XXL. “I was like, man, this guy, he is I Am Other. He’s not some ordinary child. He’s a kid that thinks outside of the box. He’s on his way to being one of those super special artists.” He hails from California (Compton, to be specific), which is ostensibly the nucleus of hip-hop nowadays. Pharrell was “mad as shit” about missing out on signing the West Coast’s Tyler, The Creator; could Buddy be the next best thing? With such powerful backing, we’re expecting nothing less.
How did you get into rapping?
Entertainment in general has always been a passion of mine. I’ve always liked to entertain, be in front of people, and have them laughing, smiling, whatever. Just acting out pretty much. I started getting heavy into the music around sixth grade. I really wanted a laptop. I was begging my mom for a laptop. She didn’t think I was ready so instead she got me a little mini Mac. I hooked it up to a computer screen and got on Garage Band and just let my fingers do the talking. Started fiddling with it, had a little mike set up, record, and it was kind of raw, unedited, but I got my point across. I realized that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
Check out this little preview of Jared Evan’s Neptunes produced ‘Instant Gratification Leftover’ tune titled Anywhere that we’ve heard before back in March, in the meanwhile, I’ve managed to edit the tune with Game’s verse on it for the fans, check it out below

I realized I wanted to play music when:
– I realized that I influence others.
One word I would use to describe myself:
The best part of being a musician is:
– Performing and connecting with the audience.
Right now, I’m most excited about:
– This show I’m performing at tonight.
Something most people don’t know about me is:
– I was a competitive cheerleader for many years.
One of my happiest moments was:
– When Pharrell introduced me at his concert in Austin TX in front of thousands of people.
My music is:
In ten years, I see myself:
– Settled in LA
And another one Ladies and Gentlemen, we’ve got a new Beat Goes On version, apparently this the very first first version of The Neptunes produced song that’s been played by guitarist Monte Pittman with Madonna singing, peep it below, thanks to whoopiedoo.

Just a year ago, Paula Patton never would have slipped into a barely there outfit to straddle a pommel horse in front of a camera. The occasional innocent bra shot? Sure. But steamy sexual provocation, complete with come-hither eyes and generous amounts of skin? Not a chance. Believe it or not, she was just too shy. From the outside looking in, Patton’s insecurities seem ridiculous. For one thing, she’s drop-dead gorgeous. She’s also a respected actress who’s graced romantic comedies (Just Wright, Jumping The Broom) and critical darlings (Déjà Vu, Precious) alike. Off screen, she and husband Robin Thicke—the Grammy Award–winning singer and songwriter—keep on giving lovesick fools hope by maintaining one of Hollywood’s most functional celebrity marriages.
(Their first child, Julian Fuego, was born April 2010.) Her unforgettable performance in Thicke’s steamy “Lost Without You” video shows she’s not exactly as shy as she claims to be. Still, the Los Angeles native was never comfortable disrobing for anyone else’s visual pleasure. But she’s never had a lead role in a blockbuster like Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol either. Sharing screen time with Tom Cruise in the fourth installment of the mega-successful spy franchise, Patton has found her confidence skyrocketing. She’s packing heat and beating down bad guys. It’s the kind of role that very few actresses get to tackle, and Patton knows it. No wonder she’s feeling better than ever about herself. And when she feels good, we feel good, too.
How big of a factor is your husband in this new confidence?
He is my greatest supporter. He’s never stopped me from doing a single thing; he only encourages me to go for it. He tells me to do things before I even think I’m ready myself.
Here is a new/old track by Natasha Ramos titled Music Box produced by Antonio McLendon which was planned to be on the Star Trak album, don’t forget to cop the ‘Feelin’ Myself’ Mixtape and her debut album is here www.allthingsnatasharamos.com, thanks to goobersnattch.

The holiday season got underway at Los Angeles shopping center The Grove with some help from Robin Thicke and Sean Kingston. The entertainers got shoppers in the Christmas spirit by performing at the tree lighting celebration. Rocking a red blazer, the R&B lothario debuted his latest single “Pretty Lil’ Heart” with his band and Kingston brought some island flavor to the outdoor stage as fake snow and fireworks capped off the festivities.
Pharrell just released his first promotional video for Qream, drinking sweet, creamy alcoholic drinks on a boat in the sun with VIP’s and sexy girls. Pharrell took a celebratory ride through the waters of Miami to announce his newest venture to the world and promote the quixotic Q lifestyle. Watch below, as he throws free bottles to unsuspecting passengers, bestowing this liquid dessert upon all those who hopefully don’t have to drive their respective vessels home and you can hear probably a Hives/N*E*R*D lefover from their Black & White Studio Session on the video titled *judging to the hook* ‘Let Loose’. Pharrell even sounds like Hives frontman Pelle Almqvist on it but it probably went to Instant Gratification which we all know what happened to it, nevertheless can’t wait to hear the full version, in the meanwhile ive managed to edit the tune abit for the mp3 player, check it out below.

Usher is cooking up some fire for his next album. The music superstar hit the studio with today’s top hitmakers including Pharrell, Jim Jonsin, Rico Love, and Diplo to lay down some new tracks for his seventh LP, due in 2012. “Right now we’re just experimenting with different sounds,” said Rico, who penned “There Goes My Baby” off 2010’s Raymond v. Raymond. “My job is to make sure it stays classic. I don’t feel like Usher is just a Top 40 artist or just an R&B artist or just a rhythmic artist. I gotta make records that connect to all formats.” One insider who heard the new material tells rap-up.com, “It’s the most ridiculous music I’ve ever heard Jim and Rico make. Amazing!”

Jamaican-born American actor, rapper, record producer, singer and former leader of Heavy D & The Boyz Dwight Arrington Myers, better known as Heavy D passed away. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office confirmed the death Tuesday evening (November 8), saying that Heavy D had collapsed at his home and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he died shortly after noon. The cause of death was not known as of Tuesday night, but the Beverly Hills police said that there was no evidence of foul play and that the death appeared to be “medically related.”
“I was barely aloud in the studio back then. @KadeemSmith I was happy to be a witness to him Aaron Hall, Teddy, Wreckx making songs. And go listen to “girls they love me”, that joint goes! Heavy D has classics. Shout out to Uptown, Andre, Teddy Riley and Puff. #Kings! I remember “I need somebody” and “now that we found love” and countless other Heavy D masterpieces. What a force. He will be missed.”
