lacey thanks for being so honest. I haven’t seen them live yet with her, and seeing as how they arent coming to the ATL I don’t know when I will get a chance to. But from what I’ve seen of them performing on youtube I feel the same way. I understand that this is finally a chance for her, but I’m still not convinced that she fits with the group…but I guess we will just have to wait for next year when the album drops to really tell…

I know the guys are smart. But I’ve seen the live show. Definitely not the same group that I loved. And I just can’t get into it with Rhea up there. She has a good voice, just not what I’m used to hearing from them. Sounds watered down. It was mentioned in the KUBE radio interview that they wanted to go with a more radio friendly sound this time around. I wish them well.

I fell in love with N*E*R*D because their music isn’t something you’ll hear on the radio 100 times a day. So it was always refreshing. Its not the fact that a female was added, for me its Rhea’s sound. And to say she auditioned singing “His Eye is On the Sparrow” you have to be kidding me. Like really, that song is for 12 year olds auditioning for Showtime at the Apollo. So yes I feel like I was slapped in the face by this BS.
After 8 years, it just may be time for me to move on and its not easy. I’ve been trying to force myself to like it since June/July and it just isn’t working. I kept hoping it was temporary and that they would look at the concert clips and say it isn’t working but doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. This is Rhea’s big break after years of being a solo artist, so I hate being on this side of the fence since this is her reward. But ugghh I can’t get into it and all the pop pr lying spin machine that’s coming with it. I’m not 12, so I see through wool, LOL!

now that it’s confirmed i’m not sure what to think

N*E*R*D will be P, Shae and Chad to me but i can’t judge til i hear the album in 2010. i’m hoping they don’t lose their original touch which makes them stand out from the set off. if they go to main stream it is not right

they know best so i’m hoping they do right with Rhea. i don’t want her changing N*E*R*D and what they stand for…originality and being unique

I saw them in Seattle Saturday lets just say at first N.E.R.D. was the icing on the Jay-Z tour cake! But I left to go get a beer after watching them for a while. Which is really sad cause I was there for the Glow in the Dark tour and when he toured with Common at the Showbox sodo not to mention all the times I saw them in VA beach totally upset! I don’t like Rhea as a member of the group, She is talented and all and beautifull, but to boring for N.E.r.D she doesn’t fit.
Santagold, kelis, Erykah Badu kind of singers would be better…

Congrats to Rhea. She’s gorgeous & very talented, but don’t quite know how I feel about this. Guess I’ll just need to wait for their album to drop & decide then. I just hope that they’re not doing it to go mainstream.. Random, but Chad seems like he’s been busy with a lot of things, so he’s like being pushed out the group? Not literally, but that’s what it seems like. The last 3 shows I went, Chad wasn’t there.

ugh I find it superlame that they haven’t said anything about it either yet she is in singapore with them and the new pictures caption says pretty much implies that she is a part of the group.

I just want to say that I am not a hater, but I just really don’t see what this girl can bring to the group. i very much doubt this is true, N*E*R*D just don’t seem the kind of group who would simply add another member for more fame and sales. P has always spoken about how he does not do what he does for the fame and that he does it because it’s what he enjoys and it’s what his fans want. he knows he has a smaller fan base that alot of artists out there but he is ok with that and so even if Rhea was to join the band it would be because that’s what the group feels is right

i definitely would prefer N*E*R*D to stick to their old school ways with just Pharrell, Shae and Chad as that’s how i know them well and that’s how i figure i’d like them, but if they did wanna add Rhea what can we do? all i can do is wish them the best whatever they do and i know i will never stop listening to their music and will always follow them in all they do

Y’all shouldn’t judge Rhea & the future music & style of the group before you know what they are going to do! Rhea is DOPE, she’s TALENTED and she’s HOT! She’s the perfect addition to the group. I personally would have prefered to see her being successful as a solo artists because i LOVE her music, but I think with NERD Rhea can be really successful. i don’t think it could be the best thing to do. Like Thelonius said, black eyed peas made good HIP HOP music before Fergie join them and they had their own fans. Now, i don’t know which is their music style when i am listening to their music. My sister couldn’t stand their music but now she can’t help listening to them.

I don’t expect this from NERD. They have their own world, their own style of music and i love the way that they still doin’ their own music based on real instruments instead of doing the kind of digital music they do for their collabos.

That’s why i think that if a girl join this group, it could disturb the balance of this one, change the way they see the music, change the way they produce their own songs… and i don’t want to be surrounded by BEP fans or even Slimmy fans during a NERD show,
for me IT’S AN UNBEARABLE THOUGHT!!!
