The spring-summer issue of Vogue Hommes International profiles Pharrell Williams, the ridiculously talented gay-friendly rapper, fashionista, designer and environmentalist. “For me, comfort is essential,” Pharrell tells the magazine, describing a wardrobe full of oversized jeans, army fatigues, truck driver caps and “hundreds” of sneakers. “I’m an absolute fan of Ralph Lauren. I don’t even count the Purple Label and Black Label clothes in my closet anymore. I have a weakness for the Japanese brands Comme Des Garcons and Watanabe.

They have an approach to beauty and comfort that really impresses me. I also have a lot of admiration for Lanvin and Alber Elbaz. And for Marc Jacobs of course, whether he designs under his own name or for Vuitton.” Pharrell Williams says he “doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, says grace before every meal, and adores McDonalds hamburgers and cult TV series Star Trek.”
