Pusha T has reunited with The Neptunes for King Push, his follow up to My Name Is My Name. The crack-influenced rapper has been cooking up this LP since last September, and recently explained his experience working with Pharrell and Chad Hugo thus far. “It’s just recreating the energy, I haven’t been with [those guys] in so long,” said Pusha. “First we gotta get in there, talk about the inspirations, talk about the direction.
We gotta revisit all the moments in time that we love. Then I gotta expose them to what I like too, what’s new, what’s hip, and what’s fresh, then it’s their time to show and prove.” Pusha T then shed light on some of those studio sessions, and what fans should expect in the near future. “We’ve been doing it, and I think we have a very, very strong direction on where the new King Push album is going,” he reassured. When asked about the upcoming album’s sonic direction, Pusha T described it as one word, “triumph.” He also explained the project is his “proclamation,” and will hopefully feature more production from Kanye West.
