Adidas had a very prosperous 2015, thanks in no small part to one Kanye West, whose YEEZY collections managed to generate a whole lot of revenue for the German sportswear company and even more hype. While West made no bones about the popularity of his footwear and apparel line, Pharrell Williams struck his own fortune with the Adidas Consortium Superstar collection.
According to Business of Fashion, Adidas recently produced a report of last year’s financial earnings. In it, the company detailed that it had sold 15 million pairs of Superstars – some of which Pharrell had no hand in creating – and, “at $100 or so per pair, accounted for almost $1 in every $10 adidas took in,” outperforming and outselling all shoes in the adidas range.
