Brian Tyree Henry is now part of Universal’s upcoming Pharrell Williams and Michel Gondry musical, joining Kelvin Harrison Jr., Halle Bailey, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph in the 1977 Virginia Beach-based story inspired by Pharrell’s childhood neighborhood. Michel Gondry, known for “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind,” directs, with a script by Martin Hynes and Steven Levenson.
Pharrell and Mimi Valdés produce, alongside Gil Netter. Ryan Jones and Christine Sun oversee for Universal. Henry, acclaimed for “Atlanta” and his stage work, recently starred in “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” and “Class Of ’09” and is set for “Transformers One” and “The Fire Inside.”
