Pharrell Explains Why He Loves Mentoring Artists [Audio]

Pharrell continues to share his experience with the next generation of artists. During a recent interview with iHeartRadio, he spoke about mentoring younger musicians and explained why he enjoys passing on the lessons he has learned throughout his career. According to Pharrell, helping artists grow and develop their own sound is one of the most rewarding parts of his journey in music.

“I would call it a labor of love, you know, because what you get to do is pay everything that you’ve learned forward and pay all the priceless suggestions that have been given to you and the enviable advice that was imparted to us,” he said. “Like, we get to pay those things forward to people we’ve never met before.” He continued, “And you get to counsel and tell them what you think and feel and help to magnify the talent they have already.”
