Pharrell Williams Multi Man.
On bikes, skateboarding and everything in between. Pharrell Williams is a man of many faces. There’s Pharrell the producer, who as one half of The Neptunes has churned out hits for everyone from Britney to The Hives. There’s Pharrell the frontman and drummer behind hip-hop-rock hybrid band NERD. There’s also Pharrell the fashion mogul, co-founder of clothing label Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream footwear, who has everyone from Louis Vuitton to designer furniture makers Domeau & Pérès knocking down his door to collaborate. And then there’s Pharrell the business tycoon, creaming off a nice earner from his record label, Star Trak. But, somewhere in between all this, there’s still ‘Skateboard P’ – the kid who grew up, made a buck or two and fulfilled a childhood dream by building a half pipe in his house.
The Pharrell here today is of the sweaty, topless, post-gig kind. And, before music or skateboarding, we’re here to talk bikes. Well, one bike in particular – a 26” Dirt Jumper from Brooklyn Machine Works that takes its name from Pharrell’s bodyguard, Big Ben. So is there any link between the giant towering over Pharrell and London’s famous clock? “No, it’s because I’m fucking big and called Ben.” One beefy bodyguard suitably pissed off, all that stands between us and Pharrell is the star-struck teen who, in between excited yelps of adoration, has snuck backstage to throw a phone into her hero’s face and squeal, “Say hi to my sister!” Exuding the patience of a much-admired man, Pharrell questions his admirer’s age before responding with a responsible, “This is Pharrell you’re talking to – not Gary Glitter.” Excitable underage distractions sidelined, gold-plated blackberry switched off, Pharrell Williams – a man with fingers in all pies – is finally ready to talk.
With two singles quickly climbing the charts, Pitbull has signed with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Music Group through his Mr. 305, Inc. imprint. The relationship will not only involve recording, but also touring and branding opportunities. Pitbull’s current Ultra Records single, “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” is presently No. 13 on the Rhythm charts and is the follow-up to his hit single “Krazy” which featured Lil Jon and went on to sell over 700,000 downloads. Pitbull’s digital download success just earned him a nomination in the upcoming Billboard Latin Music Awards in the newly created category – “Latin Digital Download Artist of the Year.” While ascending the charts with one smash single, Pitbull’s has another hit in the works – the recently released “Blanco” featuring Pharrell, is the first single from the original motion picture soundtrack for Fast & Furious 4 (Interscope/Star Trak), released March 31st. The Paul Hunter-directed “Blanco” video premieres this week and features Pitbull alongside Pharrell and Chad of The Neptunes.
“I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” “Krazy,” and “Blanco” are anticipated to be featured on Pitbull’s debut PGM/RCAMG release, Rebelution, scheduled for a September 1st, 2009 release. The album will be executive produced by superproducer Jim Jonsin (Lil Wayne, T.I.) and will also feature production from Jonsin, alongside Lil Jon (Ciara, Usher), Mr Collipark (Soulja Boy), Play N Skillz (Lil Wayne, Chamillionaire), The Neptunes (Britney Spears, Justin, Jay Z) and others. “Being an artist who comes from an independent mindset, I was skeptical about signing with a major label,” Pitbull says. “But being that Bryan Leach and I have shared success in the past, combined with the fact that we both come from the TVT school of hard knocks, I know that Polo Grounds and RCA/Jive Label Group will be the perfect fit for ‘Mr. 305’. Barry Weiss’ success with that same indie spirit only reinforces what I know – we’re about to make history.”

Will The Neptunes and Swizz Beatz be on Thicke’s 4th Studio Album, well could be, according to Hamptonroads.com, Thicke revealed that The Neptunes have been recording together in a phone interview recently and Thicke has been seen with Swizz Beatz in the studio on a Live Stream Show last night. So we might see a Swizz/Thicke collaboration either on Thicke’s or Swizz’s Album, cuz Swizz is also working on his 3rd Studio Album.

Nerds Invade Emory
Okay, so this is kind of old news but there were problems downloading the story. Enjoy! It was definitely a site to see at the NERD show at Emory on Thursday night. Although the show was a well-kept secret intended for the students and faculty of Emory it looked as if a small buzz got out into the open. A crowd of damp and excited coeds began to chant ‘nerd’ that hinted on to the patience that was being lost. Within a few moments the band appears on stage followed by star front-man Pharrell, which caused the crowd to go crazy. As the show started, the sea of excited college kids proceeded to push to the front of the stage causing the isles of eager young women to fall onto the barricades. As the crowd stood at the front of the stage with mesmerized looks across their faces, there was no turning back.
The crowd was hype as ever with slews of people crowd surfing over groups of out of control mosh pits. NERD performed older hits such as ‘Lap Dance’ to their newest hits ‘Spaz’ and ‘Sooner or Later’. My favorite part of the show was the audience participation and Pharrell encouraging young people to be involved in art as much as possible. Despite almost losing my life by being hurled in to a concrete wall, the NERD show at Emory was one experience that I will never forget in all of my years as a concert goer. So next time NERD comes through Atlanta, be sure to check them out. I will warn you to not wear your best shoes, but it’s all worth it.
Chief Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger says her long-awaited solo album “may come more sooner than later,” but after two years of projected release dates and delays she’s not about to set one now. “I think it’ll just come out when it wants to come out, on its own,” Scherzinger tells Billboard.com. “I’m still working on my album, and I’m very excited. I’m a relentless perfectionist. I get one chance to put out a first (solo) album, so when the right time comes I will put it out.” Scherzinger has been working on the album, tentatively titled “My Name Is Nicole,” since 2006. She’s released several singles — “Whatever U Like,” “Baby Love,” “Puakenikeni” and “Supervillian” — while several of the other songs considered for the project turned up on the Dolls’ 2008 released “Doll Domination.”
The current incarnation of the album, she says, “is just in the works and in talks and in the writing process. I haven’t started recording yet.” She hopes to hit the studio in the summer, after the Dolls finish their run opening for Britney Spears and then tour Europe again. “I’ll be excited to get back with old friends — Will.i.am., Timbaland,” says Scherzinger. She also plans to work with good pal Lady Gaga and hopes to continue a new association with Academy Award-winning Indian composer A.R. Rahman, who collaborated with Scherzinger and the Dolls on an English version of his “Slumdog Millionaire” track “Jai Ho!,” now subtitled “You Are My Destiny,” which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Nicole worked with The Neptunes in 2006 and did the track „I M.I.S.S. You“ for her solo album “My Name Is Nicole“.

Clinton Sparks profiles Pharrell Williams new band Chester French during his “Get Familiar” segment on the Daily 10 on E! . They discuss their FREE ALBUM “Jacques Jams Vol. 1: Endurance” featuring Diddy, Jermaine Dupri, Pharrell, Janelle Monae, Bun B, Talib Kweli, Clipse, Solange, Cassie and more!
According to NERD’s Twitter Site, NERD will Re-Release Seeing Sounds with “Soldier feat. Santigold & Lil’ Wayne” and with a couple more new tracks. I just hope we will be able to hear the Left-Overs off Seeing Sounds such as „Out Of My Head“. The Re-Release was actually been planned for last years christmas according to Shae.

Love The Future (2009) (April 21st)
The soundtrack to the fourth The Fast and the Furious film is well in the tradition of the previous three, an inconsistent collection of street/club hybrids designed to make listeners feel like they’re going to an opulent nightspot that just happens to be on the rough side of town. Fast & Furious — a confusing name for a sequel that’s actually bettered by Malaysia’s alternate title 4 Fast 4 Furious — starts out well enough with the taste-making choice of Baltimore rapper Rye Rye plus M.I.A. on the Blaqstarr-produced “Bang.” Busta Rhymes’ macho “G-Stro” is good enough, but the Kenna selection is an obscure surprise, coming off his slept-on Make Sure They See My Face album and sounding like Kanye West meets Bootsy. “Blanco” and “Krazy,” with Lil’ Jon’s ghetto-tech production, overshadow the other two Pitbull tracks, although the Miami rapper’s collaboration with Robin Thicke features the priceless “Like Barack bring some hope to this bad world/Go ahead you bad girl.” While reggaeton master Don Omar does fine on “Virtual Diva,” the faceless Shark City Click cut and Tasha’s pointless Madonna cover are textbook examples of filler.

Chester French were ridiculous, constantly walking a fine line between being experts at crowd-woo’ing and being cringe-inducingly awful. The main dude had a pretty painful stage demeanor and a limited vocal range, and they would consistently get the crowd worked up only to lunge into some super-lame chorus or verse that would Ben-Folds-Five the audience into fits of talking-amongst-themselves. Then at the end of their set they did a cover of No Doubt’s “Hella Good” that got the audience going, ran through an instrumental verse or two of Daft Punk’s “Robot Rock” (well, really Breakwater’s “Release The Beast“), before closing with an honest-to-god awesome cover of Aerosmith’s cover of “Remember (Walking In The Sand).” What?!?! I was relatively impressed. At one point the singer prattled on about their dealings with Pharrell and all I could think is “why?” Seriously, they were dork city. But the Aerosmith cover of a cover was tight. At one point they said something about their last show in Boston having been several years before at Harpers Ferry in front of 5 people. I could see that. — Dan Brockman
They talk about their fashion sense and the people who inspire Chester French and who are inspired by Chester French. LOL At Max.
