By Danielle Harling. Pharrell Williams speaks on the various artists he’s working with, but remains relatively silent on his work with Jay-Z. While producer/rapper Pharrell Williams may be at work with fellow artist Jay-Z the specifics remain scarce because when asked by Rap-Up.com if he’s working on anything with Jay-Z, Pharrell simply revealed that he’s “sworn to secrecy.” Although Pharrell remained tight-lipped while speaking on his work with Jay-Z he did speak a little more in-depth on the other artists he’s working with including i am OTHER artist Leah LaBelle.
“She’s incredible. Like we couldn’t believe it. And when we chased it down and finally talked it was like cool. And she sings her ass off,” said Pharrell. Pharrell then went on to rattle off the names of artists he’s been working with this year. He also revealed that he’s working a lot more with fellow The Neptunes partner Chad Hugo. “Well the new Leah album, Leah LaBelle. New Mac Miller, Pink Slime. Chad and I have been doing a whole lot of work together,” Pharrell explained. “New Miguel, new Jay, new Usher, new Scissor Sisters. Mary song’s crazy too. Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross.” Thanks to nerd0016.
Jake Shears revealed to Contactmusic.com how working with Pharrell Williams was very exciting although ”intimidating”. He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: ”Usually when we collaborate it’s with someone we’ve met before or know already. We’re all massive fans of his, but we’d never met. Then we had a couple of conversations with him, and he came to our studio in New York and we built Inevitable from scratch, from keyboards and bass. It was really exciting. Intimidating might be the wrong word, but no, it was. He’s incredibly talented. You have be on top of your game to work with him.”

Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears has confessed he was “pretty intimidated” when the band collaborated with hip-hop whizz Pharrell Williams. The Comfortably Numb group worked with Pharrell on their fourth album Magic Hour, and Jake admitted he was impressed by the N*E*R*D star. “I was pretty intimidated by Pharrell. He’s the most stunning man I’ve ever seen,” he told The Star. “Your jaw drops to the floor and his voice is unbelievable.” Jake – who has penned tracks for pal Kylie Minogue – also had words of praise for another collaborator, US rap star Azealia Banks. “She’s a firecracker. She’s extremely talented and really funny.” New single Only The Horses is due out on May 13. Magic Hour is released on May 28.
Scissor Sisters have debuted their brand new single, ‘Only The Horses‘. Released on May 13 – a week earlier than originally planned – the track received its first official play this morning (April 6) on Fearne Cotton’s BBC Radio 1 show. “Oh. MyGod. I’ve never even been in such suspense,” teased the disco-pop band’s frontman Jake Shears on Twitter before the upbeat, synth-heavy song was aired. Speaking to Cotton, Shears said: “I’ve known Calvin for quite a while, we met originally making some music with Kylie for the ‘Aphrodite’ album. He’s just a lovely guy, he’s so wonderful.”The Calvin Harris and Shears produced song is the first single to be taken from the Scissor Sisters‘ new album, ‘Magic Hour‘.
The band will release their fourth studio album on May 28. You can see the video for ‘Shady Love‘, which is set to feature on the album. Shears added that the band’s new album came about relatively quickly. “We started making this record in September (2011), I love it, I’m so proud of it,” he said. “It’s really all over the place in a beautiful way.” ‘Magic Hour‘ features collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Diplo, BoysNoize’s Alex Rihda and Azealia Banks as well as Calvin Harris. Of working with Pharrell Williams, Shears told Cotton: “I was a little bit intimidated, because I think Pharrell’s really amazing… dare I say it, I think it might be some of our best work on this album.

By Alex Hudson. It’s been a few months since Scissor Sisters promised a new album and unveiled a music video, so we were starting to wonder why we hadn’t got some confirmed details about the glam pop crew’s forthcoming full-length. That has now finally changed, since the band have announced that the LP is called Magic Hour. In the UK, the album will be released on May 28 through Polydor, though so far a North American release has yet to be confirmed. In a statement, singer Jake Shears had this to say about Magic Hour: “It’s a sweet joyful mélange of beat-driven future-pop. It style-hops all over the place unabashedly.”
The album will feature collaborations with Diplo, Pharrell Williams and Alexander Ridha (aka Boys Noize). Of course, there’s also a cameo from Azealia Banks, who showed up on the lead single “Shady Love” under the pseudonym Krystal Pepsy. What’s more, Calvin Harris pitched in as co-producer on the single “Only The Horses,” which will arrive ahead of the album on May 20. Shears said, “When we wrote ‘Horses,’ I immediately knew that he’d help knock it out of the park.” Watch the video for “Shady Love” below.

Hit singer-producer Pharrell Williams hints that more music may be on the way from Blue Ivy Carter, baby of Jay-Z and Beyonce. Williams produced Jay-Z’s recent song “Glory,” featuring the cries of then-2-day-old Blue Ivy — making her the youngest performer to chart on Billboard. On Monday, lvrj.com asked Williams whether an album by the baby was on his production schedule. “Can’t talk about it. It wouldn’t be an album for her — but I can’t talk about what he’s doing. That’s all I can say,” Williams answered. Williams is working on new music with Jay-Z, Usher, the Scissor Sisters, Adam Lambert and many others. Williams came to Vegas to add star power and emotional support to the Billionaire Boys Club clothing line (he’s creative director) during the MAGIC fashion convention.
He was scheduled to host a party Monday night with retailer KarmaLoop at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. He’s also co-producing music for the Oscars on Feb. 26, with “The Dark Knight” composer Hans Zimmer. Lvrj.com asked Williams whether they would fix those big Oscar music numbers, which are usually panned by critics and viewers. He couldn’t comment. “We’re gonna have fun. We definitely want to be respectful of the business. At the same time, we want to add our flavor to it,” he said. But after our interview, I discovered last week’s news broken by Deadline.com that Oscar producers plan to nix those music performances this year. Anyway, Esquire named Williams “Best Dressed Man in the World” seven years ago. I asked him who should be inducted into a celebrity couture hall of fame. His picks: Steve McQueen and Robert Redford. What makes Williams stylish? “I’m just a fan and so eager to do it. I think that’s what most of it is — ambition and drive and curiosity. “You can’t just wing it. You’ve gotta at least be interested.” Thanks to BlueSky2308.
