Pharrell Williams credits singer Kelis with introducing him to the world of high fashion, including brands like Prada and Gucci. The 40-year-old musician, who is known for both his music and his fashion sense, remembers that he first became interested in fashion about 15 years ago, after signing Kelis to his label. Prior to that, he mostly wore Ralph Lauren’s Polo because it was in style. However, Kelis encouraged him to step out of his comfort zone, and introduced him to more high-end fashion brands. According to Pharrell, it was thanks to Kelis that he was able to break out of his fashion rut and explore a new world beyond just wearing monogrammed clothes. He shared this anecdote with UK Vogue magazine.
