Game To Release First Single Produced By Dr. Dre, Unofficial Tracklist Revealed

Game - The R.E.D. Album (2010)
According to 2dopeboyz, The Neptunes got 3 tracks including a Lupe Fiasco feature on Game’s new album. This is hard to believe that only 3 tracks made the final tracklist out of 9 Neptunes tracks that they did in the studio and since the article is also mentioning the rumoured first single ‘Energy’ feat. Justin Timberlake, I doubt this is a real tracklist off Game’s R.E.D. album because Game just confirmed via his twitter that the first single will be a Dr. Dre tune.

SOS Help For Haiti Benefit Concert Recap

1. Diddy, Queen Latifah & Pharrell SOS
Queen Latifah, Pharrell and Diddy spearheaded BET’s “SOS Save Ourselves: Help For Haiti” telethon Friday night (February 5) at Miami’s American Airlines Arena, encouraging viewers to donate to the quake-ravaged island. From the onset, the mood was upbeat, thanks to Wyclef Jean’s opening performance of “Hold On” with Mavado. ‘Clef — who told the audience he wanted to teach them “Creole 101? — also brought out Haitian MCs to rap along. Later, he celebrated his homeland’s culture in an energetic mini-set that started off with him and Akon performing “Sweetest Girl.” ‘Clef then said since he was in Miami, he wanted to do a remix. Haitian singer Black Dada came out and started singing the hook to his single “I’mma Zoe.” Then, Wyclef’s artist Haitian Fresh came out. The performance ended with everyone waving Haitian flags.

The tone of the night’s performances ranged from inspirational, with powerhouse vocalists Mary J. Blige and Jazmine Sullivan singing “We Gonna Make It,” to fun, with Justin Bieber and Ludacris uniting for “Baby” (the Biebs gave a gracious salute to Haiti by singing parts of “One Less Lonely Girl” in French). Robin Thicke did a pitch-perfect rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy Mercy Me,” and Keri Hilson performed her Billboard smash “Knock You Down.” Hilson delivered a message to the crowd after her song: “No one is paid to be here. We’re all here from the bottoms of our hearts. We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ. No one is exempt. We can all do something.”

2. Diddy, Queen Latifah & Pharrell SOS 2
Busta Rhymes brought a brand-new, Haiti-themed song to the telethon. Although the rap vet did not announce the title, he rapped with clarity and conviction. “While my heart is racing and I address the topic,” Rhymes rapped. “What’s the reason they facing something so catastrophic/ While I search for answers and balance my thoughts equal/ All I can come up with is God is testing the people/ It’s so incredible to witness the strength of the righteous/ And the clearest example of how we come together in crisis.” Another powerful lyricist, Nas, also took to the stage. He performed “The Strong Will Continue” with Damian Marley, from their upcoming Distant Relatives LP. “This is for the strong,” Nas yelled. “This is for Haiti!”

Swizz Beatz Thanks Pharrell For Justice Sample

Pharrell & Swizz Beatz
The hip-hop heavyweights urged Swizzy to check out the French electronic duo, whom he sampled for Jay-Z’s On To The Next One.’ Even before Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 dropped, fans had already gravitated to the Swizz Beatz-produced “On To The Next One.” The popular three-second sample loop on the hook leant itself to a head-nodding and sound-system-bumping experience. And ever since the video kicked off the new decade, the song’s hook has been on repeat on radio. But the funny thing is, the sample doesn’t say “on to the next one.” It’s actually looping the words “under the spotlight.” The song samples Justice’s 2007 hit “D.A.N.C.E.,” and Swizz said he never would have created Jay’s club banger without the urging of Pharrell Williams and Q-Tip.

“To be honest, Q-Tip and Pharrell put me onto Justice,” Swizz told MTV News. “We had a long conversation on the phone, and they were like, ‘Yo, you need to get onto this Justice joint.’ I knew the sound, but I didn’t know the name of the sound that I was liking. They were calling me back, like, ‘Yo, did you get the Justice stuff yet?’ Nah, nah, I’m on it. I was on vacation or something, and they called me again, and they were like, ‘Yo, did you get the Justice joint? We’re going to stay on top of you!’ “ Swizz said he was vaguely familiar with the song, but he wasn’t aware of the French electronic duo, made up of Gaspard Augé and Xavier De Rosnay.

Pharrell and Q-Tip felt Swizz was the only person who could flip Justice’s song for a beat. Once he finally heard the track, he called Pharrell in excitement. ” ‘Yo, I got it! I got the joint! I already hear 10 things I could do with it,’ “ Swizzy recalled saying. “I did 10 of them, literally, but then ‘On To The Next One’ was the least complicated one that I did. It was something that would easily fit into the system but still got the bounce, and it still gives Jay space to do his thing, even with the sample behind him through the whole song. It gave me a chance to be able to rock the chorus. It was a perfect fit.”
