While this sneaker imagery is clearly a mock-up, we have reason to believe that there’s a degree of truth to this leak. In place of the standard “Human Race” text that we find on Pharrell’s other NMD collaborations, this new version features “Pharrell” and “Chanel” typography, while we also see the addition of a treaded outsole and Chanel branding on the heel.
Upon reaching out to adidas for official word on the collaboration, which was leaked by Yeezy Mafia, Highsnobiety received the following statement: “adidas does not respond to unconfirmed reports and is unable to comment at this time.” Given Pharrell’s relationship with the French fashion house, the idea of a three-way collaboration of that nature does seem totally feasible.
