As the co-chair of the 2017 Met Gala, Pharrell Williams is sure to turn out his best red carpet style as per usual, especially since the theme this year is in honor of Comme Des Garçons‘ legendary founder and designer Rei Kawakubo. And by his side and equally fabulously outfitted will likely be his wife, Helen Lasichanh. Though the model is quite private and usually stays out of the public eye, she always turns heads with her style.
Williams, who is known as one of the biggest producers and musicians in the business, and for being an ageless vampire, used to also be a super eligible bachelor. So, how did Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh meet, settle down, and grow their family with four kids? Their romance has been a long road. The couple got engaged in 2012, after dating for more than five years, according to Rolling Stone, and being friends for more than two years before that.
A rep for Williams confirmed that the children and their mother are “healthy and happy.” Pharrell Williams and his wife, Helen Lasichanh, welcomed three new additions to their family earlier this month, a rep for Williams confirmed to Vanity Fair. The rep declined to offer any information on the babies’s names or sexes but said that Lasichanh and the children are “healthy and happy.” Williams and Lasichanh, who is a model and designer, are already parents to 8-year-old son Rocket Ayer. They were married in October 2013.
Pharrell and Helen actually got married in a secret ceremony in late August in France, but the couple held off having an actual ceremony and reception until October 12th. On the weekend fall day, the couple made up for lost time with a glamorous garden party in Miami on a full-blown wedding. Pharrell and Helen held their bash at the National Tropical Botanical Garden, the Kampong in Coconut Grove.
And the party started in style, as Pharrell and Helen exchanged vows while on a lavish yacht aptly named “Never Say Never’ surrounded by family and famous friends. Pharrell Williams sported a plaid suit for the wedding while Helen dressed in a voluminous dark blue and green coat with a white gown peeking through underneath. More impressive than the party’s locale though was the guest list. The bash brought out a ton of big names, like Cato Williams, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Leah LaBelle, John William Codling, Robin Thicke, Paula Patton, Gwen Stefani, Shae Haley, Jackie Garcia, Buddy, Maxine Ashley, Cris Cab, Fam-Lay, Big Ben, Terry Richardson, Greg Selko and many more.
And at the reception, Usher and Busta Rhymes reportedly put on a mini-concert. These big-name guests were reportedly instructed to wear “garden party attire” and special slippers may have even been given out upon arrival. An insider revealed of the wedding of Williams and Lasichanh: “Usher and Busta Rhymes did a mini concert at the wedding. It was so fun. The little concert was amazing.
It [was] the most fun wedding I’ve ever been to.” “Of course they’re playing some of [Williams‘] hits tonight.” Williams and Lasichanh are parents to their 4-year-old-son Rocket. “[He’s the] best song that I’ve ever co-written,” he told Savannah Guthrie in August. “It’s awesome. I can’t tell anyone what to do. I can’t give anyone relationship advice. But the bestie thing is awesome. Every night is like a sleepover.” Check out the pictures below. Congratulations to the happy couple!
Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh are set to host their official wedding party later this month, according to a U.S. report. The couple reportedly married in a secret ceremony in France in August 13th, but the hitmaker and his partner have waited to celebrate their nuptials with a celebrity-filled bash on 12 October.
Details are still scarce but from what we hear guests can expect a huge performance from Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. The guest list includes longtime collaborators Pusha T and Malice of The Clipse, “Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton, Gwen Stefani and partner Chad Hugo. We’ve heard great things about Helen — especially from 40-year-old Pharrell who says she’s his bestie and every night is like a “sleepover.” This pair is super creative so you already know the ceremony is going to be “artsy” and like no one else’s wedding. Congratulations to both of them.
